Account Service Representative
Job Summary
This position is primarily responsible for supporting IRA Smart customers with all account service and inquiry issues. Our Account Service Representatives (ASR) will also handle small balance terminate participants calling to initiate transactions or checking status of transactions. When sales opportunities are uncovered, the ASR will transfer the call to a Rollover Counselor.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Ability to respond to various telephone requests regarding account information, general rollover options/procedures, and required paperwork.
- Provide complete account servicing to IRA Smart customers through the inbound channel.
- Access information from a variety of sources and references to assist clients.
- Engage clients cashing out in a high level conversation about the impact of cashing out and refer to a Counselor if participant if necessary.
- Act as a liaison between the client and the Customer Service departments at the financial institutions on our network for balances rollovers under $10k.
- Respond to general service emails.
- Cooperatively work and establish positive cross-functional relationships within the organization.
- Respond to clients with a positive, helpful attitude and be customer oriented with the ability to listen, teach and elicit information efficiently.
- Communicate with different personalities and skill levels via email and telephone.
The ideal candidate must be a highly motivated, results oriented individual with the initiative to handle inquiries, requests and concerns while engaging all internal and external parties involved.
Minimum Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred.
- NASD Series 6 and 63 licenses not required, but a plus.
- 1-2 years of customer service experience.
- Client focus and commitment to quality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong investigative, interpretive, and problem solving skills.
- A keen ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail.
- Knowledge of financial markets and retirement planning.
